General work visa

A general work visa may be issued to a foreign national who does not qualify for any other South African work visa. Although this is the most onerous work visa process of all, it still provides hope for individuals who received an offer of employment from a South African company.

The prospective employer as well as the applicant must comply with all the relevant and prescribed requirements within the parameters of the immigration law.

A general work visa may be issued for a maximum of five (5) years at a time.

Tourist visa

A Section 11 (2) visa is commonly known as a short-term work visa. This visa is used for short-term projects to be conducted in South Africa for up to 90 days.

Relative’s visa

A relative’s visa may be applied for by a family member within the first and second step of kinship of the South African citizen or permanent residence holder.

Long-term visitor’s visa

A long-term visitor’s visa may be issued to a foreigner who intends to conduct activities
