Business visa

A business visa may be issued to a foreigner intending to establish or invest into a business in South Africa where he or she will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the company.

The prospective business owner needs to comply with the relevant prescribed conditions of the immigration law and ensure that the business employs a prescribed number of South African citizens or permanent residence holders within a period of twelve (12) months from the date of the issuance of the business visa.

A business visa may be issued for a maximum of three (3) years at a time.

Relative’s visa

A relative’s visa may be applied for by a family member within the first and second step of kinship of the South African citizen or permanent residence holder.

A long-term visitor’s visa may be issued to a foreigner who intends to conduct activities
